How much dance floor will you need? Well, it depends, but here’s a good place to start.
About 1 in 3 guests at an event will dance. The table below uses these ratios.
Please note that how much dance floor you need per person depends on the type of dancing you or your guests will be doing.
The ratios and table presented here work best for slower, more compact dances at weddings and the like. Don’t expect to be able to fit the number of dancers in the table for swing, polkas, waltzes, etc .
If you’re thinking of ordering a very small dance floor, we suggest you lay out the area with tape, and dance in it to make sure it will really work for you. A 9’ by 12’ dance floor is really appropriate for only the smallest events. Thanks!
